SAFE AND EFFECTIVE STRATEGIES TO DEFEAT CORONAVIRUS AND STAY OUT OF THE HOSPITAL

Whether you’re vaccinated or not, you can still acquire Covid-19. The CDC stopped reporting breakthrough cases, but there have been 988 breakthrough cases that have resulted in deaths as of July 6th. https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/health-departments/breakthrough-cases.html Hence, I thought I’d share some lesser known tips that may reduce the likelihood of contracting Covid-19 and/or ameliorate symptoms in the event you acquire it. (Note: I did not include social distancing, avoiding crowds, washing hands, or wearing masks, since these are well-established techniques.)

  1. Take Vitamin D — There are a number of studies suggesting that higher Vitamin D levels decrease your chance of acquiring Covid-19 and attenuate symptoms once you get it. (This includes increased hospitalization rate, mortality risk etc.). Dr. Rhonda Patrick was recently on The Joe Rogan Experience extolling the virtues of Vitamin D for protecting against Covid-19 and lowering the probability of mortality once the virus is contracted. Since most Americans are Vitamin D. deficient anyway, supplementation is a win-win. Of course, wherever possible, spend time in the sun, since this natural source of Vitamin D is best of all. (Please Note: You can get Vitamin D toxicity if you take too much, so do not exceed the maximum daily allotted quantity, 4000IU’s a day). 2) Use Mouthwash Twice A Day — There was a recent study suggesting mouthwash kills Covid-19. This can happen in under 30 seconds. Sounds crazy but what is there to lose? Worst case you have minty fresh breath. More here: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-54971650

3) Smoke Marijuana — A new study suggests marijuana intake actually lowers your odds of getting Covid-19. Supposedly, it can block Covid-19 from entering your body in the first place. No wonder nearly all my pothead friends are doing fine and dandy! 4) Get A Flu Shot — There is some evidence that, like Vitamin D, the flu shot decreases your chances of acquiring Covid-19 and attenuates it once you get it. The mechanism is not fully understood. It is possible, though, that by having your immune system ramp up to fight one virus it is better prepared to defend you against another. Plus, by avoiding the flu you are more likely to stay out of hospitals (where you have a high probably of contracting the coronavirus regardless). In these challenging times, we need to do what we can to protect ourselves. Among other things, coronavirus can lead to long-haul symptoms, pneumonia, myocardial injury, pulmonary fibrosis and death. Following the above suggestions will hopefully make you just a little bit safer. Thanks for reading, and, as always, feel free to comment below.
